Our dear Pastor Choco has accomplished what I’m certain very few have: after representing the “Latino Reformation” on the cover of TIME magazine just two weeks ago, he’s now been named to the TIME 100 list, which recognizes the activism, innovation and achievement of the world’s most influential individuals. He’s included alongside people like Barack Obama, Pope Francis, Steven Spielberg, Gabrielle Giffords and even Lebron James.
I’m grateful to Pastor Choco and how he’s representing believers worldwide and the Assemblies of God movement. Three years ago I first met Pastor Choco and visited several of his Chicago church campuses. What struck me about his ministry then, and continues to, is his laser focus on meeting the needs of the most hurt, broken and disenfranchised in society. Pastor Rick Warren wrote the profile, and said, “Pastor Choco encourages others to go out into the community not just with words but with his own actions.” He’s captured by the heart of the Gospel, and God is honoring his servant by elevating him in the public eye.
Read more about his involvement in the TIME 100 list here, and join us in helping to spread the word about this wonderful news. I have no doubt Pastor Choco will use this opportunity for the glory of God.
